Oh its so wonderful to be in love…

So I have a new boyfriend.

His name? Mr. UPS Man, and he delivered me a special package. 😉

Oh get your mind out of the gutter!

This morning when I woke up I found two packages outside my door. One was from The Raw Juice Girl, it was the one pound bag of raw macadamia nuts I won in her giveaway. Thanks again Michele, I am so excited to try these out! The second package was from Mark from the Healthy Baking Company. Remember when I reviewed their Raisin Spice bar? Well Mark was kind enough to send me a pack of each variety they have to offer. Thanks again Mark! I can’t wait to review each one of these. Have you ever tried any Heart Thrive products?

So how do you all like my extreme blog make-over? I have wanted to get a new layout for sometime and I didn’t know how to go about it. Well this morning I was feel particularly gutsy and I sat down and gave it my best shot. I am really pleased with how it turned out! What do you think? I’m also planning on updating my about me page, and creating a recipe page too per a couple of requests I have received. So stay tuned…

For breakfast this morning I had a luscious green smoothie, but it was ten times better topped with some of my favorite apple chips. I noticed that my supply is getting dangerously low. Oh dear!

I got a lot accomplished today. I finished a scholarship essay all about the economy and credit unions (I never want to hear the word credit union again!), and I hit the gym and got in my workout before the snow hit. Lately I have focused more on ab work, trying to get some sort of definition. It seems no matter how much I work out, I still can never get a defined mid-section. I will prevail however! What are your top tips for working out your abs? I’m missing my Zumba fix too! Due to this snow my last three classes were cancelled, and doing it at home just isn’t the same. I can’t wait until tomorrow mornings 10 AM class.

Tonight on my agenda is some baking – my mom got me some early valentines day goodies! – finishing up more scholarship essays, and reading some more literature.

Question of the day – Are you excited for the winter olympics? What is your favorite event?

My favorite event has always been figure skating. I have always wanted to go ice skating, I think it looks like so much fun. Maybe one day I will be as good as Miss GC! 😉

Just Audrey is have a wonderful giveaway.

Another PB-licious giveaway.

  1. Yay! You got your macadamia nuts! Thanks for sharing a photo – and I’m so glad you got them. I was just wondering today if you’d received ’em yet.

Can’t wait to see how you try ’em out!!

And, nope, I’ve never tried a Heart Thrive product. Can you believe it?!

    Hugs,
    Michele

  2. Love the new layout! This is similar to how I want mine to look, it seems more clean. If that makes sense, haha. Love the cupcake header. 😛

I’m not excited for the Olympics at all. For me, it’s just.. there. Although I can see how the figure skating would be fun to watch. They’re so graceful!

  3. Great new layout! It feels nice and open. Well, you can never go wrong with white as long as you have an interesting picture to go with, and your little cupcakes are adorable.

I have never had any interest in the Olympics for some reason, but I have never given them a try, which is strange, since I generally love physical activity and sports.

  4. LOVE The bloggie makeover you gave yourself. OMG This makes your blog seem sooo much more classy, professional, and just BAM. Nice job!!!!!

    Heart Thrive. Need it.
And Oh Nuts has awesome stuff, Michele is a doll too 🙂 Congrats on your win!

  5. My abs have always been a trouble spot for me. Even when I’m at my thinnest, I have a little “pooch.” However, I’d say that I get the best results with that standing ab machine thingamajinger at the gym, haha! Do you know which one I’m talking about? You stand on it and raise your legs? Yeah…that’s the most effective for me.

p.s. love your blog! I’ll admit that I was definitely drawn to the picture of a big chocolate cupcake =)

  6. The page looks very white now 🙂 And these letters (when you type) are really big. Cool!

Never had the Heart Thrive products. Are they good? (don’t you just love getting stuff in the mail?) If I were to work out my abs, I would do lots of sit-ups (and perhaps some push-ups too)!

Naaah, I’m not excited for the Olympics. Why? Because of the Canadian Seal Slaughter. I got the those leaflets from peta2 today, and the pictures were horrifying!! :O Can’t be excited about something that requires murdering the animals!

  7. I love the mail man too!! He used to talk to me while I was running on the road, and one time when it was raining he offered an umbrella!
(I don’t know how I would look running with an umbrella, but that’s besides the point!)

Your header and layout are really cute!!!

  8. I want to get my hands on some of those Thrive bars! Do you think I could contact the company to try them out?

Ab work: I loved the class that I took at my gym. 30 minutes of total abs/core moves. It was amazing and I felt so energized afterward! I am feeling some soreness, but that is normal. 🙂 I can’t wait to go again! I also suggest stability ball workouts. They REALLY get the whole core working. I bought an inexpensive set at Target for around 20 dollars. It came with a ball, resistance band, and two DVDs with workouts for abs, legs and glutes, and arms. I have also heard that bosu balls are amazing, but I have yet to try them out. I really want to! Sadly, I don’t know of anywhere that offers them. 😦

I love that you are always baking! I can’t wait to make pancakes with Brad on Sunday morning. Then, if we get our homework done (haha!) we are going to go on a grocery adventure…Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s! I really hope we can go! 🙂

  9. I’m loving the blog makeover! Your header makes me drool 🙂 I think adding a recipe page is a great idea; I’m in the process of doing the same thing on my blog as well.

I wish I could get my hands on some Heart Thrives! But they don’t sell them anywhere near me 😦 I’ve always been really interested in trying them out though…

I wasn’t excited for the Olympics at first, but watching the opening ceremony kind of got me into it. My favorite sport to watch is always the hockey 🙂 It’s a Canadian thing I think.

  10. you´ve got so many goodies, you made me jealous, especially those thriving cakes, they´re the best!
    have a great weekend sweetie.

  11. pilates is the only thing that’s ever shown me ANY abs results. i’m sort of in love. you definitely have to stick with it, because you won’t see results overnight, but it will seriously change your core strength and appearance once you get the hang of it.

  12. I love heart thrives!! They are amazing! U will love them!! I cant find them anywhere around here, where I used to live the local health food store had them, thats how I discovered them, now I cant find them : ( hope to again!!

I love your blog header too, cupcakes rock!!

Im a new reader and love your blog, congrats too on almost 1 year vegan!!!!

    Have a great day! xo

  13. I love the new look. Beautiful!

I also like the looks of that green smoothie. What’s in it?

Working out abs? I am a huge Pilates fan. I also like doing Tracy Anderson’s workouts. She has a mat workout you can buy, or you can “test drive” her methods on YouTube.

  14. Great layout hon! Way to go! Ive had the Heart thrive bars. Well only the lemon and chocolate. Both were great. Cant wait to hear your review on them. Tips on abs…planks and good eats=) Ha! Theres also a couple of really great abs workouts on fitnessmagazine.com. They have some good ideas! Have an awesome weekend hon!

  15. hey! ah i am seriously loving your new layout 😀 its gorgeous- im especially happy that you included a cupcake right on top! who doesnt love those? the ups man must seriously adore you because that package is amazing. i havent tried heart thrives but i heard they are so good. i hope they are all yummy! i didnt even know the olympics were going on. how sad is that? have a great night xoxo soph

  16. Although I see Heart Thrives all over the blogs, I’ve never seen them here locally :/ They sound so good though!

I’m not an expert or anything, but as far as I can tell.. the *quality* of ab work is much more important than how many reps you can do. I like bicycle crunches, planks, dumbbell side bends 🙂

  17. I love watching figure skating too…I always get so envious of the beautiful twirls and turns they can do on ice! I would fall flat on my face!

I’ve tried heart thrives before, but they take a bit of getting used to…I grilled them! hee hee

  18. I feel ya on the abs! The are my hardest thing to get defined, too. Pilates is the only thing that has been able to sculpt them and make them actully feel like they got a good workout. I’ve heard so much about the Heart Thrive products and want to try them so bad! Can’t wait to hear your review!
